Music Sounds Best in the Woods
Picture this: Labour Day long weekend, the mountains are still warm, the trees are just starting to whisper about autumn, and the Ram’s Head Inn at RED Mountain transforms into one of the most magical live music settings you’ll find anywhere in Western Canada.
Into the Trees brings a full weekend of live music to Rossland over September long weekend, with headlining acts from across Canada performing in a setting that frankly does half the work for them — because when the backdrop is a mountain forested in towering trees at golden hour, everything sounds better. Weekend passes, single day tickets, and craft beer and cider sessions make it easy to build your own festival experience, whether you’re going all-in for three days or catching a single night under the stars. Combine it with laps in the bike park or the BC Cup Downhill race happening the same weekend and you’ve got one of those rare long weekends that genuinely does it all. This is the kind of festival that gets added to the annual calendar after the first visit and never leaves.
The forest didn’t just set the stage — it is the stage

A Lineup Worth Waiting For
The Bands
The 2026 lineup is three days of gloriously eclectic, can’t-stop-won’t-stop live music. Friday kicks off with Delhi 2 Dublin — Celtic Bhangra fusion energy that will have you dancing before you’ve finished your first beer — joined by local legions Stubbs & The – you won’t want to miss this! Saturday belongs to headliner Elliott Brood, whose raw, stomping alt-country sound was practically made to echo off a mountain, alongside the remarkable Kim Churchill and the Andrew Collins Trio. Sunday closes things out with Shred Kelly bringing their signature indie-folk anthems, JJ Shiplett’s soulful Americana, and The Heavy Lighters rounding out a weekend that somehow keeps getting better as it goes. Three days, nine acts, one mountain, zero reasons to leave early.
Close, Closer, Closest.
Accommodations
The only thing better than a three day music festival is a three day music festival where you don’t have to drive home after. Rossland and RED Mountain have accommodation options to suit every style — stay right at the venue at the Ram’s Head Inn for the full immersive experience, or settle into the slope-side luxury of The Josie Hotel for something a little more indulgent. Prefer to be based in town? Rossland’s got you covered there too. And here’s the part that really sweetens the deal: you can unlock discounted rates at festival accommodation partners. Good music, great beds, mountains all around. Book early — Labour Day long weekend fills up fast and this is exactly the kind of secret that doesn’t stay secret for long.

Drive, Fly, Walk or Ride.
Getting Here
Getting to Rossland is easier than you might think, and the journey is half the fun. By car, you’re looking at 3 hours from Kelowna, 2 from Spokane, 7 from Calgary and 8 from Vancouver — all on scenic mountain highways that make the approach feel like the opening act. By air, fly into Spokane, Kelowna or Castlegar (just 30 minutes from Rossland), or catch a Pacific Coastal Airlines direct flight from Vancouver into Trail, which is practically on the doorstep. Once you’re here, you’re sorted — a dedicated free festival shuttle will be running between downtown Rossland and the Ram’s Head Inn all weekend, so you can leave the car parked, the keys in your pocket and your full attention on the music. Roll in, settle in, and let the weekend take care of the rest.

Labour Day weekend in Rossland is not a two-trick pony. Between sets, or before the music kicks off, the town and surrounding mountains are yours to explore in the best possible way. RED Mountain Bike Park is right there — laps in the park between festival days is the kind of itinerary that makes people deeply jealous back home. The surrounding trail network offers everything from leisurely forest walks to full-send mountain bike missions, with 200km of singletrack to choose from if you’re feeling ambitious. Hike up to a backcountry cabin, float on a paddleboard at Nancy Greene Lake just a short drive away, or simply wander Rossland’s charming downtown — the heritage buildings, independent shops, galleries and coffee spots make for a genuinely lovely few hours between adventures.
Post-ride, post-hike or post-swim, the patios, restaurants and cold pints of Rossland are waiting. The festival is the headline, but Rossland is the full album — and it’s worth listening to the whole thing.
New for 2026
Tap Into the Trees
Because apparently three days of incredible live music needed something extra, Into the Trees is introducing an afternoon craft beverage event on both Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th. From 12–4pm at the Ram’s Head Inn, local craft beer and cider producers will be pouring their finest while live music sets the mood and food keeps everyone happy and upright. Entry is just $10 per person — and if you’ve already got a weekend pass, you’re in for free because you’ve clearly made excellent life decisions. Kids get in free too, pending capacity. Drink tokens are available from multiple spots on site, the trees provide the ambiance, and the afternoon is yours to enjoy at whatever pace suits you best. Think of it as the warmup act for the evening.
