Once you’re in Rossland, getting around is easy—and part of the fun. The town itself is wonderfully walkable, with shops, cafés, and restaurants just a short stroll apart.
Heading to the slopes? The Centennial Trail links the heart of town to Red Mountain Resort, making it simple to walk, ski, fat bike, or even jog your way there. Big Red Cats has their office at the base, so pop in to see if Cat Skiing if for you. Black Jack Ski Club is just across the street from RED, and is perfect for quick runs or laps with your dog or a night ski.

Rossland makes it easy to get geared up for winter adventures, whether you’re hitting the slopes, trails, or backcountry. Red Mountain Resort offers rentals of skis, snowboards, high-performance gear, as well as snowshoes. If you are heading out with Big Red Cats and want to level up your gear, no problem! They will also provide you with all the backcountry gear and training before you head out (included in price).

Just 19 km north of town lies the Rossland Range Recreation Site — a playground of high‑mountain terrain, wild ridges, and cozy day‑use cabins waiting for your next back‑country mission. Before you head into the backcountry, know before you go. Weather can change fast—pack extra layers and the right gear for all conditions.
