Travel back in time and activate your inner art historian with Spring Break Camps at the Rossland Museum! This year, campers have the opportunity to engage directly with some of our favourite art-related artefacts, most of which are not currently on display.
March 16th – 20th: Junior Time Travellers – Art through Artefacts
For an artist, inspiration can come from anywhere, anytime. For us, inspiration comes from our collection, every day. Whether you’re a mini Michaelangelo or more of a pint-sized Pollock, there’s always a new medium to master or technique to try. Each day, campers will learn about art history through a variety of art projects and activities inspired by the museum’s artsy-est artefacts.
March 23th – 27th: Junior Time Travellers – Artefacts through Art
Rossland has always been home to a vibrant and creative community, and we have the collection items to prove it. From early mining and ski races to homemade instruments and DIY woodstoves, our locals sure knew how to innovate. Each day, campers will learn the history behind some of the museum’s most unique artefacts through related crafts and activities.
Camps run 9 am-3 pm (drop-off begins at 8:45 am, pick-up between 3-4 pm). Camps appropriate for ages 6-10. Max 16 children per week.
