Gold Fever Follies

Box 1584
1765 Columbia Ave
Rossland, BC

In 1987, a small group of theater enthusiasts started a musical review based on Rossland history.  The show was
embellished with local lore, old time tunes and real Can-Can dancers from the Boomtown Garter Girls.  Two decades later, the Rossland Gold Fever Follies are still going strong with original stories from Rossland’s rich gold mining history.  While artistic license is often used, many of the characters are based on real people from Rossland’s past.  Such characters have included Judge Begbie, Father Pat, The Hunter Brothers, Olas Jeldness, Big John Kirkup and a whole
host of others. The Rossland Gold Fever Follies continues to run with the efforts of a volunteer executive, some of whom have been around from the start.

Show times are 3:00PM and 7:30PM
Tuesday thru Saturday
July 3rd to August 25th, 2008
Shows are held at the Rossland Miners Hall

Stephanie Gauvin is a youthful artist from Quebec, living in the alpine city of Rossland BC who needs to share her vibrant passion for color, movement and her love for the outdoors through her paintings.

"Rossland has become the place where I have been able to merge my lifestyle with my work" she says. Stephanie interconnects her sport (skiing) and her mountain lifestyle with her creative self, for her there is no difference between the two."When you feel happy and you know you are where you should be in life then your spontaneity and imagination are used at it`s best. It`s all a circle...."

Most of her winter scenes are indicative of her love and enthusiasm for the cold season. Stephanie`s focus now is on canvas painting although her experience holds various forms of artwork such as murals, commercial signs, computer graphics and glass painting.

This energetic woman has been leaving her brushmark everywhere she`s been from Quebec where she studied graphic arts in `86 to Whistler to Switzerland. Now you can find her pieces on the walls of art galleries across British Columbia.
